MY STORY

A Journey of Unlearning

I'm Pournamasi, a 29-year-old residing in the bustling city of Mumbai. My journey has been a colourful one, starting from excelling in school to exploring various artistic pursuits as a child - from painting to dancing and singing, I dabbled in it all throughout my high school years. However, at 18, when I ventured out on my own, I seemed to have left those passions behind.

In hindsight, as I navigate adulthood in this vast and beautiful world, I realize that this act of leaving was actually a form of unlearning, a shedding of old identities to make way for new discoveries. Unlearning means that what you know about your identity is partly or entirely mistaken. For me, this realization translated into freedom. Not having a single passion is no longer a cause for concern, but rather a freeway to keep my mind open to a multitude of interests with equal levels of enthusiasm. This has led me to be that person who is perpetually curious about everything and everyone.

So, as I introduce myself to you today, I cannot label myself as 'A dancer', 'A singer', 'A painter', or even 'A writer'. What I can identify as is: A dreamer.
